Sawbridgeworth
Home Up Hunsdon Rushy Meads Sawbridgeworth Plants in Town

Sawbridgeworth Marsh is managed  jointly by the Essex and Hertfordshire Wildlife Trusts. Rich in bird life and butterflies, but it is the orchids and other wild flowers  that are  the greatest attraction.   Nowhere else in the Stort Valley (except perhaps  for the marsh at Hatfield Forest) can you see such a wealth  of orchids.   Here too are yellow flags, marsh valerian and above all - the whispering reeds.
