British orchids are very special plants, but well worth seeking during the summer months.  Some, like the bee orchid and the marsh orchid can be found readily while others can only grow on chalk and the helleborines like deep shade.  This page is intended to build as a gallery of most f the British Orchids even though some will never  be seen in Herts or  Essex.
